18年共五次復發 八旬翁抗癌不認輸

一般癌症第四期患者被治癒的可能性都不大，但是家住台中81歲許姓老翁，在18年前準備退休享清福之際，因肚子脹痛、體重異常減輕及排便習慣改變等原因赴醫檢查，竟確診罹患乙狀結腸癌第四期合併肝轉移，當時評估存活率不高，但他憑著過人毅力，配合醫囑治療，18年來癌症復發5次，不但存活至今，而且仍勇敢面對癌症持續追蹤，他以自身經驗勉勵癌友：「千萬不要放棄治療！」
亞洲大學附屬醫院大腸直腸外科顧問醫師王輝明表示，許伯伯初次診斷乙狀結腸癌長有5公分的腫瘤且合併肝轉移，已是第四期，狀況相當危急，評估餘命有限，經手術切除乙狀結腸和肝臟病灶後，再進行化療與標靶治療，狀況一度好轉，但4年後肝臟癌細胞又復發，再開刀切除，如此反覆5次，但許伯伯始終樂觀面對，從不放棄治療。
王輝明介紹，乙狀結腸癌最容易轉移的部位是肝臟，因肝臟有75%的血流來自腸道，並經肝門靜脈流入肝臟，故一旦腸道出現癌細胞，就可能透過此循環系統轉移到肝臟，由於患者轉移至肝臟的腫瘤數小於3顆，且癌細胞位置並不在肝臟血管附近，故建議切除。
王輝明指出，大腸癌第一期的五年存活率近100%，而第四期的患者合併肝轉移，如能接受肝腫瘤切除手術，五年存活率也可從5%提升至約40%，這位患者除了接受腫瘤切除手術外，也透過多專科團隊合作，進行化療、標靶藥物治療、放射線治療等，「幾乎把所有大腸直腸癌的治療武器全都用上了！」，很開心迄今仍持續回診追蹤，堪稱是「抗癌的好榜樣」。
王輝明強調，大腸直腸癌癌症第四期不等於末期，只要患者長保信心、勇敢面對，並配合癌症多專科團隊密切配合，針對病情變化決定最佳的治療方式，就有治癒的可能。
